The Buzz about Bees Workshop

Wednesday, May 31, June 7, June 14 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

This hands-on workshop series offers gardeners opportunities to learn about starting and keeping a backyard bee colony. The series is wide-ranging, and covers best beekeeping practices based on science and research.

May 31, 2017—Intro to Beekeeping: History, Beekeeping Equipment, Protective Equipment, Sources for Beekeepers, Bees & Equipment Suppliers

June 7, 2017— Honey Bee Colony: Classification, Castes &Races, Life Cycle & Reproduction, Bee Biology, Colony Behaviors, Communication, Pheromones

June 14, 2017—Honey Bee Products: Honey, Beeswax, Pollen, Royal Jelly,  & Apitherapy

The workshop series will be held at South Coast Research and Extension Center, 7601 Irvine Blvd, Irvine.

The cost of this three-part workshop series is $90.00 per person.
